Blog l: My autobiography

Hi, welcome to my blog. 


Let me introduce myself, my name is maría ignacia toledo báez, i am 24 years old and i was born in santiago, chile. However i live in talagante, an small town located outside of the capital. My family is composed by my parents, my siblings, Gabriela and pedro and our kitten called Neka.

When i was 3 years old i entered to kindergarten , called campanitas. Then i finished my elementary school in Escuela Alborada and my high school in Colegio particular Bartolomé Blumenthal.

 I studied journalism for one year in Pontificia universidad católica de Valparaíso, but it wasn´t my thing 😔 so i deserted. Later in 2017 i decided to study Theatrical design in universidad de Chile, my current pregrade. 

Lately my hobbies are watching series, documentaries, ride my bike and watch the most boring videos in the internet, reaction videos LOL. They are so addictive!

My future plans are learning french, study a master degree and if things go well emigrates from my native town.

Blog ll: why did i choose to study theater design?

When I was a child I dreamed about being veterinarian, my motivation was to save all the animals in the world y make them happy. But that dream did not last long, I still remember the day when I realized that I had to see animals suffering and sometimes even die...in that moment I admitted that I was not strong enough to handle it, so I gave up. After that I wanted to be so many things: nutritionist, camerawoman, writer and teacher (in honor of my grandpa). However, after PSU I decided to study journalism, but it wasn´t for me. After leaving journalism, I did not know what to do and in my search I found theater design, a career that looked beautiful and cool, and that also had something that journalism didn´t, being off-camera but still being related to the audiovisual world. I´m not going to lie saying it was easy, because it wasn´t. It is a career with a lot of academic load and living far away (about 5 hours’ round trip) is not very compatible. Blog Vlll: A subject I enjoyed studying this semester

Hi everyone, today I am going to write about CRITICAL PERSPECTIVES ON DISABILITY AND FUNCTIONAL DIVERSITY , subject that has made me a better impression from what I thought before starting this semester. In a normal day of classes we often talk about a new concept given by our teachers that is related to being critical about our vocabulary, practices and situations that involves the disabled. The way we address this kind of experiences is an important and frecuently discussed topic that we might not give the importance that I think it has, considering its impact on society.  Sometimes we have invited persons who talk us about their own experiences and  and how they cope in a world that handicaps them.  This subject really surprised me in a positive way, because it has made me reflect on many things and I have learned a lot in class. Blog Vl: How can my career make the world a better place?

Hi everyone, today I am going to talk about how theatrical design can affect the world. Theater design is a career where it took me a lot of time and effort to find him another sense in addition to the aesthetic, the beauty or the spectacular. I'm sure that everything is political and this career is no exception, through of visual convention it is possible to propose political and social positions, criticize them and at the same time suggest possible solutions. I like to think that we can give a social role to a career that goes unnoticed but is present in every product/ audiovisual material that we consume. However, I feel that is not the only way to contribute to a better world, there are other options like pedagogy or artistic workshops, wich can granting expression skills to children, adolescents and adults,it can be useful to contribute to the social reintegration of grown woman's and grown men's, but also of those children whose rights have been infringed and who are...
